Over the weekend, we had a number of debates regarding gun control and ownership in this country, spawning out of more tragic and unnecessary events. In a response to a tweet by singer Jason Isbell, we were gifted a new viral meme that swept the internet.
30 to 50 feral hogs running through a yard is horrifying. All this talk of feral hogs everywhere I look had me craving some more killer pork, and luckily, we have a list of some awesome feral hog films to satiate your appetite as well!
Following a series of grisly killings by a wild boar in the Australian outback, the husband of one of the victims teams up with a farmer and a hunter to track down the bloodthirsty beast. One of the great creature features that came out of the 80’s.
Another Australian outback boar, that is massive and bloodthirsty. What we get is an awesome B movie creature feature that features tons of gore and blood. This one stars Bill Moseley and Nathan Jones and just hit Shudder. It’s a ton of fun.
This south Korean black comedy is about…. a giant boar that goes on a rampage in a Korean town and what happens after. It’s very trope filled and takes itself way too serious, but that just adds to the fun. Check it out.
Pig Hunt (2008)
This one is FANGORIA approved. A group of guys go hunting at their dead uncle’s ranch, and run into a 3,000 lb boar named “The Ripper.” There is also Deliverance style rednecks, a cult, secret pot grows, and a ton of high powered weapons. It’s insanity and it’s great.
Genetically modified fetilizer creates a feral boar that hunts a family in this debut feature by Antoine Blossier. This combines familial tension with the feral hog genre and it’s pretty interesting.
I will be honest, I have never heard of this one. IMDB describes it as ” A tabloid news crew ventures into the backwoods of Central Florida to investigate reports of an aggressive feral hog who the locals call Hogzilla. What they find, though, are demons, devils, creeping things and pure evil. ” It sounds fucking hilariously bad and I am in. I mean, just read that tag line.
These six movies prove that the feral hog genre needs more features! But at the very least, here are a few films to tied you over until the next creature feature, and should give you some good ideas on how to get rid of those 30-50 feral hogs in your yard.
